Sweet ....

.... treats. Jackie set the challenge this week on PaperPlay Challenges:

I set the challenge this week with the theme " Sweet Treats " all you have to do is use cupcakes, Ice-Cream, lollipops, sweets, chocolate or whatever Sweet treat you like and as a little extra I would like you to add some ribbon:

Here's my entry - it's a thank you for DS's teacher (holidays tomorrow - yippee!!!!)

I forgot to put ribbon on the card, but I did put some ribbon on the notebook I altered to match as a gift for teacher!! She likes to wear very bright colours, so I've used these papers and card as a nod towards her tastes, as well as a summery vibe. See I've used my second new Martha Stewart punch - it's the Embossed Zig-Zag and very nice it is too.

There's a great prize on offer this week from The Crafty Alley, so why not have a go at the challenge!!

I'm a BAD ....

.... blogger! Twelve days without an update, disgraceful!

In my defence, it's not all my fault, our landline and broadband has been down since the weekend. We all found life without internet hard, but DD was bereft without it!!! No Bebo, no MSN, no Youtube - whatever did teenagers do in "the olden days"?!!!!

Anyway, asides from all the technological glitches, I haven't had much time to craft, have this evening thankfully finally started DS's teacher's gift, and made this card yesterday (for yet another friend who has had a baby girl!) with ........ taaa daaah ........ my new love, my Martha Stewart Doily Lace edge punch. I am in love with this punch - it is so yummy - expect to see a lot of it!!

Give it a ....

.... Twist. This week's challenge on PaperPlay Challenges is set by Elisa:

Use your supplies in an unexpected way: For example, pink card for men, title in Braille, clock faces instead of the letter "O", anything with a twist!

I took inspiration from the "pink card for men" and twisted it - I made a card for a baby girl using NO pink!! It's for a friend who has just had a baby girl after 2 boys, I figure her house will be full of pink stuff except for this!!!!

The prize on this week's PaperPlay is sponsored by Annamarie at The Scrapbook Store - it's a gorgeous kit from Pink Paislee. So have a go at the challenge and you could win!!

I've been so busy I haven't had time for much crafting other than PaperPlay over the past few weeks. The end of the school year is coming up fast and I have to make something for DS's teacher, few other bits and bobs to get working on too. I'm sure it'll all come together in the end (gulp!!!)

DS has been sick over the past week. He started off with an ear infection, progressed to a high temperature and then a bizarre rash. He asked me yesterday: "How do you get an ear infection - is it from hearing too much?"!!!!

Inspiration ....

.... at last!! This week's challenge on PaperPlay Challenges is the sketch below, set by Sandie:

The sketch, along with a lovely new Hero Arts stamp that the lovely Angela sent to me the other day, got the inspiration flowing again - whohoo!!!

Also this week on PaperPlay, a very exciting announcement that we are now sponsored by four Irish online crafting businesses - and there are now prizes on offer each week. Even more reason to join in !!! This week's sponsor is An Siopa Bui - if anyone from outside Ireland is reading this, An Siopa Bui means "The Yellow Shop" in Irish!

Buttons Galore ....

.... my extremely late entry for this week's PaperPlay Challenges, set by Mandy.

"This weeks challenge is "buttons galore". I would love for you to use buttons on your chosen project, whether they be in clusters, or used as the main element of your work, let there be plenty of buttons"

I've had a very busy week, so apart from a quick (and disastrous) session of crafting last week which left me very cross and with nothing to show for it, I haven't had a chance until today to do something for this challenge (Sorry, Mandy!!!).

Made one birthday card and a few the same design, but using a different colour scheme, to give to some kids we know who are starting their Junior and Leaving Cert exams tomorrow.

And look, I photographed them OUTSIDE, in the GARDEN, in the SUNSHINE!!!! We've been having a little heatwave here in Ireland for the past 4 or 5 days - it's been nice after the tons of rain we've had recently.

Thanks for looking - and hope you can join in the challenge!
